Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (IATA: SHA, ICAO: ZSSS) is one of two major international airports serving Shanghai, China, located approximately 13 kilometres west of the city centre in the Minhang and Changning districts. Originally opened in 1921, it is one of the oldest airports in China and served as Shanghai's primary airport before Pudong International Airport opened in 1999. Today, Hongqiao primarily handles domestic routes and a limited number of short-haul international and regional flights, particularly to destinations in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. It operates alongside the larger Pudong International Airport, forming a dual-airport system for one of the world's most populous cities. The airport is integrated into the Hongqiao Transportation Hub, one of the largest transport complexes in the world, which combines the airport with a high-speed rail station, metro lines, and a conventional rail station, making it a major intermodal node for eastern China.

Terminals

Hongqiao Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 (older, handling some carriers) and the modern Terminal 2, which opened in 2010 and serves as the primary facility linked directly to the Hongqiao high-speed rail station.
