Brussels Airlines

Brussels Airlines is the flag carrier of Belgium, headquartered at Brussels Airport in Zaventem. It was formed in 2006 from the ashes of SN Brussels Airlines, which itself emerged after the bankruptcy of Sabena in 2001. The airline operates an extensive network of European, African, North American, and Asian destinations. The carrier is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, having been fully acquired in 2017, and is a member of the Star Alliance global airline network. Brussels Airlines is particularly known for its strong focus on African routes, maintaining one of the most comprehensive African networks of any European carrier. The airline operates from its primary hub at Brussels Airport (BRU) and offers both short-haul European services and long-haul intercontinental flights. It has undergone several rebranding and restructuring efforts over the years as part of its integration into the Lufthansa Group.
