Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the busiest airport in Florida and one of the busiest in the United States, serving tens of millions of passengers annually. It serves as a primary entry point for tourists visiting Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and other major attractions in the Central Florida region. The airport is operated by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and features a distinctive landside/airside terminal design connected by automated people movers. A major expansion project, Terminal C, opened in 2022, adding significant new gate capacity and international processing facilities. MCO's IATA code derives from its former identity as McCoy Air Force Base, which closed in 1975 and was converted to civilian use.
